【Day1】15 Apr 2016
Traveling from Nagoya to Kyoto while interacting with local people
La Festa Primavera 2016 marking its 8th year kicked off. This year's event starts from the Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya and takes place on a course of approximately 1,100 km for four days, based in Kyoto. As many as 50 historic cars produced from half a century to a century ago run through historical sites as well as shrines and temples.
April 15, day one, the rally started from the Atsuta Shrine at noon. A PC competition ( a measurement competition to drive a designated section in a designated time ) took place at the first destination NTP Nagoya Toyopet. Although every entrant was seriously competing, they were responding to the cheers from spectators as well. The entrants had their cards stamped by Nagoya City Mayor Kawamura at the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, one of stamp points, and then headed to Nagoya Castle.
Leaving Nagoya, the entrants visited to Isshindenjinaicho Town, Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. In the town, many children welcomed them with cheers, and cheerful voices of the children made the entrants naturally smile. The entrants passed through four points in Tsu City and Iga City, Mie Prefecture and left for Kyoto where they stayed.
Since the entrants got stuck in traffic on an expressway from Mie to Kyoto, they arrived later than scheduled. However, they were waving to spectators and staff who greeted them with a satisfied look without showing a tired look on their faces. Local people warmly cheered the entrants at each place, which would have encouraged them to continue the rally. Day one ended without big trouble, blessed with fine weather as well.
Day two, the entrants are scheduled to depart from Kyoto and run on a course of approximately 360 km that travels around Nara, Wakayama and Osaka.
